### Prerequisites

***

Before you begin, ensure you have the following

* A Tendar account. You can sign up or request access via the [Tendar Contact Us page](https://www.tendar.co/contact-us).
* Your API credentials (Secret Key).
* A tool to make HTTP requests (e.g., [Postman](https://www.postman.com/), cURL).

### Authentication

***

The Tendar API uses **Bearer Token** authentication. You must include your Secret Key in the `Authorization` header of each request.<br>

**Header Format:**

```
Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_SECRET_KEY>
```

For more details on obtaining and managing your API keys, see the [Authentication](broken://pages/QPzbTvC6XsT5gERiU43E) section.

The Tendar API is organized into several key modules:

* **ONBOARDING**: Manage user creation and identity
* **DISBURSEMENT**: Handle loan payouts to borrowers.
* **RECOLLECTION**: Manage loan repayments and schedules.
* **CREDIT SCORE**: Retrieve and calculate credit scores.
* **BNPL**: Services for Buy Now, Pay Later functionality.

### Example Usage

***

<mark style="color:$info;">Here are a few examples to help you get started.</mark>

#### 1. Check API Status (Hypothetical)

*Note: specific endpoint paths are based on general REST conventions as detailed path structure depends on the specific endpoint you are calling within a module.*

#### 2. General Request Structure

Here is a template for a generic request using cURL:

```
curl --location 'https://api.tendar.co/<MODULE><ENDPOINT>' \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_SECRET_KEY>' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{
    "key": "value"
}'
```

Replace

* `<MODULE>` with the specific module (e.g., `onboarding`, `disbursement`).
* `<ENDPOINT>` with the specific action you want to perform.
* `<YOUR_API_TOKEN>` with your actual API token.

For a complete list of endpoints and detailed usage, please refer to the [API reference](https://docs.tendar.co/api-reference/)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.tendar.co/documentation/getting-started/quickstart.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
